Demolition Site Supervisor

Rigifa, Aberdeen(Full-Time) 

Job Overview 

Lawrie Demolition have an exciting opportunity for a demolition supervisor/chargehand to join our team. Duties will include running small to medium size jobs and looking after a team of operatives. Previous demolition experience is essential, and the right applicant should have a good practical understanding of modern demolition and recycling techniques. Experience operating small/medium plant would be an advantage but not essential.

This could be an opportunity for a CCDO topman/chargehand to take the next step in their career, and we will provide training where necessary. A full UK driving licence will be required as a company van will be provided. This is a hands-on role which will have physical demands.

You must also be willing to work outside in all weather conditions. The ability to understand, follow and amend RAMS is essential as you will be responsible for managing health and safety of the site and your team. Basic computer skills will be required in order to correspond via email and maintain records of information. If this is something you would be interested in please get in touch.

 

Duties

  • Work in a safe, and timeously manner, while adhering to a program of works.
  • Make minor amendments to method statement/risk assessments for all jobs & ensure all involved have read & signed that they understand what is required.
  • Plan & prioritise your own & other work.
  • Maximise the use of and salvage of materials at all times.
  • Be fully aware of current regulations & guidance & be adapted to any updated & changes. Training will be provided where necessary.
  • Responsible for planning daily workloads, allocating tasks to team members briefing teams on targets, programmes, initiative & policies.
  • You will, when required, do general labouring jobs as well as operate any required plant which you are trained for.
  • Always ensure the correct protective equipment/clothing is worn on site & you may be required to use specialist equipment such as masks when working with asbestos & dust.

Skills

  • The ability to follow written & verbal instructions in English.
  • You will be required to have a moderate knowledge of costings & budget etc.
  • Possess basic IT skills & be able to work a smart phone/tablet/laptop with Microsoft Word & Outlook.
  • The job can be physically demanding so a good level of fitness is required.
  • Travel from site to site is required & may be required to stay away from home.
  • You will be required to work in all weathers & work can be dirty, noisy & dusty.
  • Be aware of & protect the company image at all times which includes keeping all plant, fleet & equipment clean & tidy, both inside & out at all times wherever possible.

Demolition Operative

Cove, Aberdeen / Various(Full-Time) 

 

 

Lawrie Demolition is Aberdeen’s oldest demolition company specialising in partial and complete demolition as well as reclamation and recycling.

Lawrie Demolition are hiring for Demolition Operative. Experience is preferred but Trainees will be considered as full ongoing training will be given to the right candidate.

A driving licence is preferred but not essential.

As part of our team applicants will be expected to have a hands-on, can do attitude and be able to follow instruction as well as work under their own initiative. This is a physical role and requires a you to be comfortable working in and outdoors in all weather.

Roles & Responsibilities

     - Soft stripping buildings

     - Operating small power tools

     - Operating small plant, if required

     - Following all H&S Regulations and maintaining a clean and ordely site

This is a varied job with the ability to learn, develop and use many different skills as your employment progresses.

The job is based in Aberdeen but will occasionally involve working away from home for short periods. Accommodation and transport will be provided when this is necessary.
