Leiths - HGV Fleet Mechanic

Rigifa, Cove(Full Time) 

We are currently seeking to recruit a HGV Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our wide ranging fleet of vehicles, trailers and powder tankers.  Since the role requires a great degree of independence, extensive experience in fault diagnosis and repairs as well as an ability to work on your own initiative are essential.

The candidate must be able to display working experience of HGV inspections and MOT preparation while undertaking general repairs on various makes of  HGV’s, trailers and light commercials.

You will be comfortable in an engineering environment as the job is very hands on. You will be a team player who can also work alone in order to meet the demands of this busy fleet maintenance division.

A current UK driving licence is essential with C+E categories desirable.

These posts require to be filled by someone who is a versatile, flexible and a willing worker who has a clean license and knowledge of the local area.

We currently have a vacancy for a Weighbridge Operative.  This role will be primarily based at Parkmore Quarry, Dufftown however there may be the requirement for occasional travel to our other sites to cover for sickness and holidays.

The main duties of the role are to carry out routine weighbridge operations and associated administrative duties.  Good organisational and communication skills are essential in this role as is previous administration experience.

Rigifa / New Forres(Full Time) 

We are currently seeking to recruit Skilled Operatives for our Civil Engineering & Surfacing Division. These roles can be based out of either Rigifa, Aberdeen or New Forres, but you will be required to work throughout the North East of Scotland.

The main duties will include general hard landscaping works such as foundations, kerbing, slabbing, drainage, ducts and excavations.

The ideal candidate will hold a CSCS / CPCS card, have previous experience in a similar role, be hardworking, reliable and a good team player.

Leiths - Civils Foreman

Rigifa / New Forres(Full Time) 

We are currently seeking to recruit a Civils Foreman for our Civil Engineering & Surfacing Division.  The role can be based out of either Rigifa, Aberdeen or New Forres but you will be required to work throughout the North East of Scotland.

You must have previous experience in drainage, earthworks, hard landscaping and general road construction.

Candidates will hold a current driving license and CSCS/CPCS card. It would be advantageous if candidates possess SSSTS qualification and first aid certification, however, this is not mandatory as training will be given.

You will be comfortable working as a team leader with a drive to maintain high quality standards and achieve set goals.  Attention to detail along with a focus on Health & Safety is vital for this role.

Particular consideration will be given to candidates applying for the role bringing with them an established squad of skilled operatives.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Contracts Manager within our Civil Engineering Division to be based at our New Forres Quarry. Role & responsibilities

Overall responsibility for the operational side of the civils division, including estimating, site visits, managing and organising contracts, programming and business development.

To take full responsibility for the required standards of Health & Safety and quality control of the contracts and sites. This will include the preparation of Health & Safety plans, risk assessments and COSHH assessments.

To financially manage all aspects of the contracts from the estimating through to final P&L analysis to ensure performance and margin is maximised.

Ability to maintain and improve effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, customers and work as part of a team.

Always represent Leiths professionally in both personal appearance and conduct.

Effectively manage all site managers and the timely ordering of materials to ensure maximum productivity.

Ensure sites are safe and that all operatives and sub-contractors are working safely and complying with Leiths H&S initiatives.

We are currently looking to recruit a Relief Concrete & Asphalt Plant Operative, the role will be based at Midlairgs Quarry, Inverness but you will be required to cover sites in the North Area.

You will be responsible for carrying out concrete batching, asphalt production and carrying out routine maintenance works.

Leiths - Site Engineer

Rigifa, Cove(Full Time) 

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, experienced Site Engineer to join our busy team working in the Civil Engineering and Surfacing Division based at our Headquarters in Aberdeen.

Main Duties:

Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to undertake traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs along with as built surveys.

Read and review construction drawings

Undertake basic take-off’s

Raising technical queries with designers and other members of the client team

Have a good commercial understanding.

Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification

Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.

We are seeking a proactive problem solver, a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of earthworks, drainage, highways, and some experience of reinforced concrete structures. Must also have a CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and ideally hold a CITB SMSTS/ SSSTS qualification.

A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable.

Fully knowledgeable in UKAS and related British Test Standards

Extensive experience in construction materials and related inspections and testing

Highland Lime, Fort William(Full Time) 

We are currently look to recruit a Quarry Fitter to be based at Highland Lime, Fort William.

You will be required to carry out routine repairs, maintenance, fabrication and installation works on our wide range of quarry plant and equipment which includes crushing and screening, sand and gravel washing, milling and ready mix concrete. In addition a sound knowledge of mobile plant would be advantageous.

All works must be carried out in a safe and efficient manner ensuring the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies are adhered to at all times. Essentially you will be a team player who can also work alone in order to meet the demands of this busy site.

You must hold a current driving licence as you will be required to travel to our other sites as and when required.
