We are currently recruiting a Technician to join our Technical Services team working in the Inverness area with travel to and supporting of the Parkmore laboratory.   

This is an exciting opportunity to carry out construction materials testing under the mentorship of experienced Technicians in a UKAS accredited laboratory with one of Scotland’s largest privately-owned quarrying and civil engineering businesses.

Leiths - Technician

Rigifa, Cove(Full-Time) 

We are currently recruiting a Technician to join our Technical Service team based at Rigifa, Cove.  

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be required to support the ongoing development of value-added concrete products, including self-compacting concrete and liquid screed, as per the quality management system and in accordance with the relevant standards and guidance.  The role will involve travel to all Leiths concrete plants as well as project site support throughout Scotland.

Leiths - Quarry Manager

Bluehill(Full-Time) 

We are currently looking to recruit a Quarry Manager for our Bluehill Quarry in Craigellachie.

You will be responsible for managing and controlling the Bluehill Quarry in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999 and all other relevant Health and Safety / Environmental legislation with particular attention to standards of performance, conduct, productivity and discipline.

This role requires an individual who has strong leadership and communication skills that can effectively manage, train and develop the workforce whilst promoting a culture of health and safety excellence.

You will have a proven track record of achieving production targets, driving forward continuous improvements, and maximising process efficiencies at all levels.

Ideally you will hold a SHE NVQ Level 4 and have proven management experience to assist in leading our quarry teams.

Leiths - Trainee Plant Operative

Mid Lairgs, Inverness(Full-Time) 

We are currently looking to recruit a Trainee Plant Operative for our Mid Lairgs Quarry.

You will be required to learn how to carry out asphalt production operations and routine maintenance works in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999.

We are looking for someone who is a hands’ on, versatile, flexible and accommodating worker who has a clean driving licence and able to operate a computer. No previous experience of asphalt production is necessary as training will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills and aptitude to take on this challenging role.

Leiths - HGV Driver (Powder Tanker)

Fort William(Full-Time) 

We currently have a vacancy for an HGV Driver - Powder Tanker.  As part of the role there will be the requirement to travel across Scotland, as well as spending nights away from home.  The role will be based at Fort William. 

The post requires to be filled by someone who is a versatile, flexible and willing worker . A category C + E License is required along with up to date Digital Tachograph Card and Drivers CPC. You will require a sound understanding of the EU rules on driver hours and be fully conversant with digital tachograph use.

We are currently looking to recruit a Mobile Plant Operative to work within our Quarries Division, this role will be based at Highland Lime, Fort William. 

You will be responsible for carrying out quarry operations and routine maintenance work. All work activities must be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999 ensuring the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies are adhered to at all times. 

The post requires a current MPQC card and ideally you will have 360 Excavator and Wheel Loader experience.

Leiths - Apprentice Fleet Mechanic

Parkmore, Dufftown

We are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Fleet Mechanic to join our busy Workshop based at Parkmore, Dufftown.

During the 4-year term of apprenticeship you will be involved in working towards the safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of HGV and LGV’s within the workshop and offsite environments.

This position is full time and combines the opportunity of paid work with both an on the job and a formal training programme, where attendance at college will be included and assessment of skills will take place via visits from the college assessor.

The ideal candidate must;

Be prepared to work as part of a team

Be able to work in a dirty and busy environment to meet deadlines

Have excellent attention to detail

Have an interest in engineering and be willing to learn

Be hard working, self-motivated, honest and trustworthy

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an hourly rate in excess of the current National Minimum Wage for Apprentices and 28 days’ annual leave.

Leiths - Quarry Supervisor

North Lasts, Aberdeen(Full-Time) 

Reporting to the Area Manager you will be responsible under Section 8 of the Quarries Regulations 1999 for the safe and efficient management of our North Lasts quarry. 

You will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental management and possess the necessary competence and leadership skills to promote a positive team. 

The ideal candidate should have previous supervisory experience, a sound working knowledge of quarry and coated operations, as well as general maintenance activities. Flexible approach to work and good communication skills are essential for this role.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential as you will require a strong technical knowledge of fixed and mobile plant operations, blast design, shotfiring and quarry development. Ideally you will hold a SHE NVQ Level 3/4.

The candidate must be able to display working experience of HGV inspections and MOT preparation while undertaking general repairs on various makes of  HGV’s, trailers and light commercials.

You will be comfortable in an engineering environment as the job is very hands on. You will be a team player who can also work alone in order to meet the demands of this busy fleet maintenance division.

A current UK driving licence is essential with C+E categories desirable.
