Kishorn Port secures £24m Investment for Port Expansion

Leiths, KPL

A HUGE MILESTONE HAS BEEN REACHED IN THE CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT OF KISHORN PORT WITH HIGHLANDS
AND ISLANDS ENTERPRISE AWARDING THE PORT £24M TOWARDS THE FIRST PHASE OF ITS EXPANSION PLANS.

This first phase will involve an extension of the dry dock to 260m in length, with the extracted rock being used to infill a nearby shallow bay to create a further 9 hectares of flat laydown land. These expanded facilities will allow a wider range of oil & gas assets to be decommissioned at the port, as well as providing manufacturing space for offshore wind projects, especially concrete floating foundations, and the marshalling and assembly of wind turbine components.

The construction contract has been awarded to R J McLeod who started work on 16 June 2025.
