Macmillan Bake Sale – Thursday, 3 November 2016

Leiths

Many thanks to the Credit Control Department who organised the event which was probably one of Leiths most attended affairs!

Katrina Castles, Credit Control Supervisor commented: “It all helps, no matter how much you bake or how little you buy every penny counts! And please remember that all cakes bought to raise funds for charity are calorie free!!”

Thanks to everyone (and their families) who kindly donated cakes and goodies and helped raise £427!

MacMillan Cancer Support said: "The money Leith’s raised will help to give someone the practical and emotional support they need as they face cancer.  Your donation helps those affected to feel more like themselves at probably the hardest time of their life".

Macmillan Coffee Mornings

The first ever Coffee Morning took place in 1990. It was a small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process.

It was so effective Macmillan did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan.

Macmillan Cancer Support

One in three of us will get cancer. There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. By 2030, it will be 4 million people, and Macmillan want to be there for them all.

Macmillan’s goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone. They provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. And because cancer affects more than just those facing it, they are there for friends and family too.
