Jim Cruickshank receives 25 year Long Service Award

Leiths

It was with great pleasure that we presented Jim Cruickshank, Leiths Orders and Distribution Co-Ordinator, with his 25 yr Long Service Award.

Jim left school to work on a farm at the tender age of 15.  Spending 24 years in the farming sector, there wasn’t much Jim hadn’t accomplished and he finished his agricultural career as a Farm Manager in 1990. Deciding to pursue a new career in the haulage business, Jim passed his Heavy Goods test and started work as a driver with CW Michie Haulage based at Park Rd in Aberdeen. Four years later Jim moved into the Transport Office where he controlled the activities of the varied fleet of vehicles including powder tanks, liquid tanks, bulkers, flat beds and tippers.

Leiths acquired CW Michie in 2011 and Jim transferred into our Distribution Office in Cove. From Cove, Jim schedules the deliveries for our Aberdeen based powder tank fleet as well as the annual distribution of salt for Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray Councils. Jim also coordinates the movement of specialist products such as Bentonite and Barites from incoming ships at Aberdeen Harbour.

We wish Jim all the very best for the future and thank him for his valued service to both Leiths and the industry.
